We believe that in the future, it will be as common and widely accepted to state that you avoid porn, as it is to say that you don't eat meat, don't smoke, don't drink or make any other decision about what you consciously consume. Until then, we're committed to providing a discrete, minimalist experience and protecting your privacy.
When you navigate to a website, the URL is checked against our database, which covers 99.9% of the active web. If the website is in a disallowed category, it simply won’t render.
Block screens are discrete and non-descript, so no-one would ever know you’re running REMOJO.
Above all we value freedom. That’s why we do what we do. Gathering data, selling ads or trying to maximise the attention you give our app is not something we ever want to do.
We don’t run ads or promotions. We don’t need you to login to the app and use it every day, so we can sell your data and show you more ads.
Instead, we offer a simple subscription model for those committed to success, that allows us to run a successful business without the need to gather data and personal information.
We only ask for information on a need-to-know basis, such as email and password when you subscribe and create a multi-platform account. That’s it. We’ll never ask for anything else at any point in time.
In-app subscriptions will only show payments to “Google Play”, not REMOJO. Website purchases will show "RM APP" on your statement.
We won’t email you. Notifications won’t mention "porn".
It doesn’t send data to us, all recognition is done locally, on your end device. That’s why it can run even when your device is offline.
The algorithm provides a probability that something is porn or other content that you want to avoid. Above a certain probability, the algorithm then triggers an action, such as covering your screen.
The OverSight algorithm runs on your phone or computer itself - processing and classifying the on-screen images and video without the need to send that data to anything in the cloud.
Because the model runs on your end device, we have no idea of the number of times it was triggered and what content you were viewing at the time.
